Palo Azul Cyclolepis Genistoides- "kidney wood" or "blue stick Tea" (1 ounce/30 grams)
- 1 ounce of Palo Azul bark
- 6 cups of water
And here is how you do it:
- Pour six cups of water into a large pot, and place it over medium heat.
- When the water starts boiling, place the Palo Azul bark inside. Give the mixture a quick stir, and cover the pot. Remember, you shouldn’t lower the heat at this point as the wood chips would be boiling for the entire cooking process. Let cook for a full hour, covered. This part is important as you need to trap the extracted compounds inside and stop evaporation.
- After an hour, remove from heat and uncover the pot. You will notice the chips are now floating on top, which means that you’ve extracted all the goodies into the water. Strain the tea into a cup.
- Sweeten by choice and consume warm, or let it cool in the fridge and have it cold. Either way, it is healthy and absolutely delicious. Enjoy!
